⚾ The 2024 MLB All-Star Game takes place at Globe Life Field in Arlington today. The National League finally broke a run of nine straight losses last year

Pittsburgh rookie sensation Paul Skenes is getting the nod to start on the mound for the National League, becoming the first rookie starter since Hideo Nomo in 1995. Nomo, of course, was already 27 by the time he come to the majors from Japan. Skenes, by contrast, is still just 22 and was the first-overall pick in the 2023 MLB draft.
Skenes has fully lived up to the hype in his first season, going 6-0 in his first 11 starts with a 1.90 ERA and 0.92 WHIP.
Starting opposite Skenes will be 2021 NL Cy Young-winner Corbin Burnes, who is 9-4 with a 2.43 ERA and 1.045 WHIP in his first season with Baltimore.
